Students are given the opportunity to take exams from Pre-Primary up to Advanced 2 Vocational exams. Students wishing to be entered for exams must attend an extra class in the term of the exam from Grade 1 upwards. Students studying for Vocational Graded examinations: Intermediate-Foundation, Intermediate, Advanced 1 & 2, must attend both weekly syllabus classes. The ISTD Diploma in Dance Education teaching qualification is also offered in Imperial Classical Ballet as well as Tap and Modern Theatre to students 17 years and over.

Acting Exams

Graded Acting Classes

At NLPAC we offer LAMDA Classes leading to exams in Acting and Musical Theatre on Tuesday and Saturday afternoons.

Students can work towards graded exams from Entry level up to grade 8 (Gold) from age 7 leading to prestigious, nationally recognised qualifications from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the higher grades earning the learner UCAS points.

LAMDA Exams are held at our centre at the end of every term.

 What are LAMDA exams?

LAMDA is one of the UK’s oldest and most respected awarding organisations. They have been offering practical examinations in communication and performance subjects for over 130 years. In this time, their qualifications have helped hundreds of thousands of candidates of all ages and abilities to develop lifelong skills.

LAMDA exams are about achievement – recognising and rewarding the endeavours of each individual – but they are also about empowerment. The ultimate aim is to provide all people with the opportunity to develop the life skills they need to be a success: attributes such as self-confidence and the ability to communicate clearly and present ideas.

At the heart of LAMDA examinations is the recognition that the qualifications are for everyone. Across the globe, LAMDA examinations unite learners of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and cultures in enthusiasm for the English language and a desire to develop skills for life.

By portraying other characters, learners can explore a range of different personalities and emotions, which in turn makes them more emotionally aware and empathetic.

Exploring different characters also allows learners to get to the heart of how feelings and emotions dictate behaviour, encouraging them to become more self-aware. As with all LAMDA examinations, the development of a clear speaking voice and good body language are an integral and positive product of the exams.
